Just fine doc, I was looking forward to this session.

That’s good. Why were you looking forward to this session ?

Well, last session kind of got me thinking about my youth. I even had a dream about my grandfather.
Dr M
Interesting. Was it a pleasant dream?
Reg
Yes, it was. I dreamt that I was together with my grandfather in the garden. We went to see how the chicken were doing and if the sheep were alright.

That sounds just wonderful. You talk a lot about your grandfather, did you spend a lot of time at his house?
Reg
Yes, when I wasn’t in boarding school, I mostly staid at my grandfather’s house in the countryside. Here’s some pictures of it. – Reg shows some pictures –

Ah, yes, that’s quite a house. Must be difficult for you seeing just this treehouse and this trailer here?
Reg
Well, sort of it does. But how ever, in UK I felt kind of out of place too. And now I feel kind of like really belonging here.
Dr M
That sounds complicated. Would you care to tell me more about it?
Reg

Well, how I’m dressed ?
Dr M
You mean, like a cowboy ? Well, surely more children must have done that kind of dressing up?
Reg
Actually, no. All the other boys were knights. I was the only cowboy. As far as I can remember, when ever it was possible, I dressed up as a cowboy.

Surely, not when you were a toddler?
Reg
Look at this. – Reggy shows another picture – See that? Even as a toddler they put me in cowboy’s clothes to console me.
Dr M
Well, sure. That very remarkable. What does this tell you?
Reg
It told me, subconsciously, that I was different, not from the same family. It made me think I was adopted for many years. It took quite a while to find out that my thought was correct.
